This holiday season, Raise is partnering with local Chicago grocery chain, Cermak Fresh Market, to raise the spirits of children and their families at Ronald McDonald House Charities® of Chicagoland & Northwest Indiana (RMHC®-CNI). From November 12 to December 16 of 2012, Raise will donate 2% of net sales to Ronald McDonald House® near Lurie Children's. With this donation, we will purchase toys for the children's playroom, make and serve lunch provided by Cermak Fresh Market, and donate residual funds directly to RMHC-CNI.
Since opening day on June 26 of this year, the new Ronald McDonald House near Lurie Children's is now the largest in the world and has raised more than $26 million. The families of children receiving treatment at Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children's Hospital of Chicago & the Rehabilitation Institute of Chicago can find care and comfort in 86 guest bedrooms, a rooftop healing deck and a full kitchen.
On December 21, the Raise Team will be on location to hand out holiday presents and serve lunch to all of the families staying at the new Ronald McDonald House®. Thanks to Cermak Fresh Market, food will be provided for each family to enjoy the holiday season.
Both Raise and Cermak Fresh Market are grateful to support RMHC-CNI’s mission to provide a "home away from home” for families of pediatric patients being cared for in their partner hospitals, while also pro-actively reaching out to children in need with mobile medical and educational opportunities. Raise will not only provide monetary contributions this holiday season, but help raise holiday spirits of children and their families during this critical time.
Thank you, RMHC-CNI, for allowing Raise to partner with your organization during this holiday season. We hope to bring a smile to every child's face not just with new toys, but with a new outlook on life.
Raise believes in giving others a raise through involvement with the community. We have partnered with local organizations to raise donations in honor of underprivileged children and their families across the nation.
During the holiday season of 2011, Raise joined Cermak Fresh Market, the Bousis Family Foundation and the Pantelis Tzotzolis Foundation to distribute food, coats and toys at Jacob Beidler Elementary School, raising a joint contribution of $75,000 in charitable donations. Raise donated hundreds of everyday items and necessities in honor of each $25 that users saved on the site.
“At Raise, we are happy to give back to our neighboring communities and provide a helping hand to children and families who lack the privileges they deserve.” -George Bousis, CEO and founder
At its launch party in April of 2011, Raise joined the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society to raise awareness of the disease and funding for research. The event collected over $30,000 to provide support for those suffering and to find a cure.
As Raise continues to grow, so do our philanthropic efforts. We continue to work with charities, nonprofit organizations and the community around us to help those in need benefit from our mission.
