About Athleta
Athleta is one of seven brands under the Gap Inc. umbrella. It was established as a premium fitness and lifestyle brand for women in 1998 and added as a Gap brand in 2009. Today, Athleta designs and sells clothing that integrates performance and technical features for active women and girls. Price Matching
Athleta does not offer price matching, but it does offer a one-time price adjustment guarantee. If an item purchased is marked down within 14 days of the date of purchase, customers can request a refund for the difference by contacting customer service. Items purchased used promotion code or other discount aren’t eligible for this price adjustment.
Return Policy
Athleta honors a flexible return system. Customers can return merchandise any time after the date of purchase, with an original sales receipt or shipping confirmation, to receive an even exchange or full refund. All returns and exchanges are free when using a prepaid return shipping label from Athleta or returning to a retail store.
Athleta also offers a “Give-It-A-Workout Guarantee”. If the clothing doesn’t perform properly during a workout, it can be returned for a full refund.
Other Athleta return guidelines include these rules:
- Damages and defective items may be returned at any time
- Store items cannot be returned online, but online items can be returned in store
- Final sale items cannot be returned or exchanged
Loyalty Program
Athleta offers a free loyalty program called BRIGHT. All BRIGHT Members earn 2 points per $1 spent in Gap, Inc brand stores. For every 500 points earned, Members are awarded a $5 Reward toward a future purchase.

Athleta offers year-round promos, especially around three-day weekends and major holidays.
Qualified Discounts
Members of the Athleta FitPro community, including fitness professionals and instructors with professional memberships, are eligible to receive a 30% discount in store and online. An Athleta coupon is not needed for this discount.
