About ModCloth
ModCloth is an online clothing retailer with a passionate focus on creating stylish, comfortable clothing for a full range of sizes. It was founded in 2002 in Pittsburgh, PA by Susan Gregg Koger and Eric Koger. Jet.com purchased ModCloth, but did note that ModCloth would still be run independently of Jet.com or Walmart. Just two and a half years later, in October of 2019, ModCloth was sold to Go Global Retail, a brand investment platform, by Walmart. ModCloth’s dedication to empowerment led to the Heroes Pledge For Advertisers, wherein ModCloth committed not to “change the shape, size, proportion, color, and/or remove/enhance the physical features” of models in post-production. ModCloth also uses their real staff members as models for swimwear advertising campaigns, in response to research that detailed the potential harm of thin models being used to advertise clothing.
